Lindsey Vonn unleashes hell on her skis

Performing well and still not being able to win can be tough for an athlete. But performing well, being on course to win, and then losing out because of something out of their control makes an athlete livid. A similar instance happened with Lindsey Vonn during one of her downhill races.

While making a wide turn during a race at the World Cup circuit, one of her skis came off. The incident ended her race prematurely, and Vonn was furious about it. Lindsey was later filmed with a hammer in her hand, beating every fiber out of her skis. Notably, she posted the same video on Facebook herself.

24 hours after posting the video, Vonn regrouped with herself as she deleted the video and issued an apology. The apology message read, “I was a little bit too emotional. It was a good lesson for me. I just have to remember that I have a lot of people looking up to me, and I can’t let my emotions get the best of me.” She also called the chairperson of her equipment supplier to say sorry.

Not the only GOAT athlete to lose their calm

An athlete losing their calm is no surprise. What’s surprising is seeing some of the most composed athletes lose it and take their anger out on their equipment. The sight is often as ugly as it is surprising.

Roger Federer is one of the most composed athletes in the face of adversity. With 20 Grand Slam wins, Roger doesn’t have a lot to be upset about- one would think. But, during an intense battle with Novak Djokovic during the Miami Open, Federer’s emotions got the better of him. The tennis ace ran in for a smashing forehand, which blazed right into the net. Federer lost his cool immediately as he smashed his racquet into the ground, ruining it. It was a moment of two rare sights. The first was seeing the legend lose his cool, which rarely happens. And the second (and perhaps the more surprising one) was seeing the crowd boo, Roger Federer!
