The acclaimed 14-time World Championship medalist captioned her message with a straightforward statement: “People need to be nicer, period”. This post centered on Świątek’s call for increased thoughtfulness in online interactions, prompted by the criticism she faced after her victory over Zheng Qinwen at the Cincinnati Open. 

Despite securing a win with a 3-6, 6-1, 6-1 scoreline, the world’s top-ranked player received a barrage of negativity for dropping the opening set. Świątek’s post-match press conference exposed her frustration, where she confronted the excessive hate and scrutiny she and her team encountered after losing a set.
