Mikaela Shiffrin’s arrival at the 2023/2024 Alpine Skiing season to win her 100th career win had adrenalized fans. Besides skiing, the 28-year-old has showered herself with lucrative brand deals as well. On the professional ground, the US Ski and Snowboard had nurtured her athletic self throughout, alongside other talented skiers. But in 2022, the most celebrated thing happened in Alpine history.

In October 2022, US Ski and Snowboard and Stifel tied themselves together in a partnership. The premium investment banking and wealth management company incorporated its vision into the US Alpine Ski Team. Moreover, as things progressed, the name changed to Stifel US Alpine Ski Team. Being the biggest sponsor, Stifel has also welcomed all US ski teams alongside the Alpine Ski Team. Now, as the marriage of the year celebrates the anniversary, the 28-year-old chimed in.

In a post from earlier today, Stifel announced the one-year anniversary of the partnership. The caption read, “Last week marked the first anniversary of our partnership with the Stifel U.S. Alpine Ski Team–and what a remarkable journey it’s been! These incredibly talented athletes have proven that where passion meets dedication, success is inevitable. We applaud the team’s achievements and can’t wait to see what the upcoming season holds. Stifel is proud to serve as the firm.”

In response, Shiffrin, Stifel’s greatest pride, shared the post in her Instagram story. Instead of any distinct caption, the 2-time Olympic gold medalist gave a joined hands emoji. Her story asserted her admiration for her fellow athletes but also a growing rivalry within. Serving as the title sponsor of the alpine events across all elite levels, Stifel aids athletes with investment strategies, too.

After the 4-year deal was signed, US Ski and Snowboard stated, “This is the most significant alpine partnership in US Ski & Snowboard history, supporting alpine skiers from the development level to the World Cup.” With the maximum number of World Cups held on American soil, the 2022/23 asserted more upcoming successes. All thanks to Stifel for extending support right when the Ski Team needed it.

Moreover, right after the partnership was announced last fall, Shiffrin cemented her position by surpassing Ingemar Stenmark’s 86th World Cup win record. The Olympians’ 87th World Cup-winning moment was nothing but magical.

Securing her 13th victory for the season, Mikaela Shiffrin clinched her 87th win, surpassing the skiing great Ingemar Stenmark. Reminiscing about the first time she made a World Cup victory on the same Are soil, the 28-year-old led by 0.92 seconds. She pushed Swiss skier Wendy Holdener to second and Anna Swenn Larsson to third. After the win, the Slalom champ couldn’t control her emotions. She said, “It’s pretty hard to comprehend.”

She added, “To the whole team and all the people who have helped me this whole season and whole career, all these people reaching out now after all these years, it’s pretty incredible. I just want to say thank you for that.” With the most wins by a male or female in alpine history, the 28-year-old has embarked on her Audi FIS Alpine Ski World Cup 2023/24 journey.
