The 2023–2024 Audi FIS Alpine Ski World Cup has been back for its 58th edition for over a month and 2 courses and the races remain as thrilling as ever. From October through March, the finest of skiing athletes have geared up to clinch the ultimate title and reign as the best in the field.

USA Skiing rivals face disappointment
Heading into the competition, Mikaela Shiffrin eyed to clinch the win to earn herself a 90th career win. However, though the Olympian stumbled across a few contenders, others seemed to have fallen for rather unkind conditions. Maria Therese Tviberg is a Norwegian World Cup alpine ski racer who excels in slalom and giant slalom. the 29-year-old also stands entitled to 1 Olympic team bronze and 3 World Championship medals. As for Elizabeth, the skiing athlete was the 2017 Austrian National GS Champion. Further, she also finished in the World Cup top 15 four times in the same season. However, the first day of the North American Leg did not prove to be on their side.

DNF or Did Not Finish arises for various reasons unintentional for the athlete to not have a score on the board. Falling into the unforeseen circumstances, more skiing athletes framed the DNF list. 22-year-old Olympic athlete Pykalainen Erika fell in right after the first two.
Croatian, Leona Popović, who majorly focuses on Slalom despite having participated in all disciplines, was marked DNF after her 2nd sector race. The 26-year-old has held a personal record best of 2nd place in a slalom World Cup finish. Nonetheless, with already multiple accolades to their names, the youngsters will look to have a promising ride down the path.
