While Lindsey Vonn has overcome many challenges in life, there is a loss Vonn has not been able to recover from. This loss is the unfortunate demise of her mother, Linda Crohn. Diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis in 2021, Crohn passed away in August 2022. Recently, Vonn made a heartfelt confession after losing her mother.

The alpine skiing legend confessed before a very special day she would celebrate with her mother. The admission again reflected Vonn’s strong bond with her mother, who always supported her. So which special day was Vonn referring to while making a confession?

Lindsey Vonn recalls her mother just before Mother’s Day

With the upcoming Mother’s Day, Vonn remembered her mom, as she wrote in a recent Twitter post, “Coming up on my first Mother’s Day with out my mom. Can’t say I handling it that well. ” 

Earlier, Vonn also missed her mom on Valentine’s Day in February 2023. She posted a picture on her Instagram handle where she was warmly embracing her mother and wrote, “More love than I could ever ask for. You always.”

In the same post, Vonn expressed how she felt that her mom was a ‘Guardian angel’ protecting her. Not only this, but when Vonn did downhill skiing in Austria for the first time, she remembered her mother. Skiing at the ‘Streif’, Vonn dedicated this milestone to her mother.

The alpine skiing legend also once recounted“8 years ago today….mom came to watch me n Cortina to break the record.” By Cortina’s record, Vonn referred to the day when she obtained her 63rd World Cup win. The alpine skier also spoke about how her mom had made an impact on her life and recalled a fond memory of her mother.

Lindsey Vonn in an episode of the podcast, Dear Chelsea, expressed, “I think my mom impacted me in more ways than I ever truly really understand now.” She then narrated an unforgettable incident of her mom’s tremendous willpower.
