Mikaela Shiffrin, the alpine skiing legend, has successfully established herself as the greatest of all time. After outclassing Ingemar Stenmark with maximum World Cup wins, the 28-year-old is set to break more records. Dominating all six modern disciplines, she is stepping into the current season with 2,206 WC points. Among the 55 athletes who secured a position at the US Alpine Ski roster, Shiffrin stands the tallest.
It’s no surprise that a skier of such great talent is supported by fans world-wide. Even her contender Ingemar stated, “She’s a fantastic skier, and she doesn’t remind me of anyone from the past because she’s writing her own new beautiful story.” However, the Olympian fails to rock a consistent winning mindset, unless she reorganizes her tactics.

Always in the limelight, be it for the delectable social media posts or athletic finesse, the 28-year-old has answers ready for the doubters. In Altenmarkt Austria, the 28-year-old attended the Atomic media day on Thursday. In an interview with Vail Daily, Shiffrin unveiled her much needed breaks to maintain sanity. When asked, “was difficult to shut down after the season and start with the basics again”, she replied with her composed self but in a confused state. She added, “I’m not sure. Maybe I just still didn’t shut down yet. Now that you ask that question, I might have done the whole summer wrong. I think sometimes it’s nice to keep going.”
Just then, her supportive beau glided in to take the limelight. He said that being in close proximity to each other helps them reset. Besides spending time in Edwards, the power duo spends quality time in Kilde’s summer cabin in Norway.

Dancing helps Shiffrin loosen up
While her dedication to skiing remains vital, her penchant for dance boosts her performance on the slope. Shedding some light on her dance-related concepts, she said, “Everybody has a style of skiing; I think everybody also has a little bit of a style of dancing.” She also added, “It’s like an expression of your body.I tend to be pretty stiff with my arms when I’m skiing and when I’m dancing, it’s the same, so it’s things that sort of translate across just the way your body moves.”
