There are numerous opinions regarding what is considered beautiful in today’s world. These days, people are obsessed with the standards of beauty. In a recent interview, Lindsey Vonn opens up to share her views on this subject.

The concept of beauty keeps changing with time. Although these changes are minute, they contribute to change in opinion regarding the same. And given sufficient time, these standards would change, reminiscent of a passing fad.

What does Lindsey Vonn think about looking perfect?

However, people are still very much preoccupied with the way they look. And the obsession with the word “perfect” is prevalent to this day. In a recent interview with a magazine, Vonn addresses this very issue about people’s fixation with the idea of perfection. Moreover, the numerous social media platforms dotting the internet have encouraged this idea to expand to insurmountable proportions. However, people are starting to realize the issues associated with this obsession over reaching perfection in terms of looks.

Furthermore, influential personalities, including athletes, are doing their bid to obliterate these false ideals regarding one’s physical appearance.

Addressing this issue during the interview, Vonn said, “With everything on social media, I think there is such a want to be perfect, and none of us are.” Continuing on this line, the three-time Olympic medalist added, “I am an athlete, I use my body for my sport, but I am nowhere near perfect. I have stretch marks; I have cellulite. I am a normal person.” Her observation on this issue is in line with other fellow athletes and prominent celebrities. Moreover, recent times have seen a shift in opinion on this trend. Now, people tend to refrain from such indiscretion as to judge one based on their looks, at least openly.

“We should all just be more accepting of each other and not strive for this impossible version of perfect that no one is,” said Lindsey, stressing the importance of diversity in appearance.

Why is an accepted standard of perfection problematic?

The four-time Olympian posits that people should not try to achieve a prearranged standard of perfection. This concept is subjective, and vying toward one accepted standard of perfection in terms of appearance is not the most ideal option.
