It doesn’t need any second thought before corroborating that alpine skiing involves more peril than most sports. The reason can be the fluctuations of weather, slope conditions, or how stable the ski gears are. While the alpine GOAT Mikaela Shiffrin sat out on both the races in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee, her Swiss counterpart emerged victorious in Super-G. But peeking inside the men’s skiing world, Shiffrin’s closest one faced a brutal injury keeping his winning streak at a standstill.
While competing in the Lauberhorn test at the Wengen downhill, Mikaela Shiffrin’s long-term Norwegian skier beau Aleksander Kilde met with a brutal injury. Being less mindful of when to jump, the skier flew to hit the safety net before the finish line. As Kilde worked on his recovery, an apparel giant brand worth $5.01 billion extended heartfelt wishes.

Having partnered with BOSS in September 2023, Kilde felt that his values aligned with the brand perfectly. Right after an unofficial deal signing announcement, the skier secured the confirmation by walking for BOSS at the Fall/Winter 2023 runway show during Milan Fashion Week. The Alpine Ski World Cup is the exact place where the alliance came to the fore. So, during the 31-year-old’s hard times, his beloved brand posted an Instagram story with the caption “Get well very soon BOSS! See you on the slopes in no time” and teamed it up with a red heart. Kilde, moved by BOSS’s effort, reshared the story writing, “thanks for your support!!!”
After tying up with BOSS, Kilde issued a note of gratitude that read, “As an athlete who relentlessly pursues boldness, this partnership feels like a natural fit”. While he is being a true boss standing against the hardships, who do you think the boss leans on? Mikaela Shiffrin.

Shiffrin being the backbone
Lying beside her boyfriend, who has suffered a shoulder dislocation and cuts in his calf, the 2x Olympic gold medalist proved herself as the best pillar of strength. The bed-ridden Kilde couldn’t contain his mirth, hence penning, “I’m here (and being taken care of by the one and only @mikaelashiffrin )…patched up…thank you so much for all of the messages. I’m grateful for all the words of love and support. This sport can be brutal, but I still love it”.

The pair of pictures made the netizens go aww, especially the second, which has Shiffrin planting a kiss on her man’s forehead. Though she has been affected by the dropped Austrian temperature resulting in a cough and cold, she may make her comeback for the Flachau Night Slalom event. At least that’s what her Instagram says.
