Four weeks have already passed since then. Several FIS Ski World Cup races have already been hosted since then. But Mikaela Shiffrin has not announced her comeback day in professional Alpine skiing. On November 30, the American ski racer faced a horrific fall on the giant slalom in Killington, Vermont. She was on her way to claim her 100th World Cup race victory. She was also well ahead of her competitors in the second run. Then the world turned upside down for her. Shiffrin experienced the fall on one of her favorite ski racing turfs. The result? Nobody knows about her return date to the sport. But in the coming days, something might help. No, it will not be regarding a medical bulletin.

Rather, since November 30, the ski racing community has seen several updates on Mikaela Shiffrin’s injury. The subsequent updates said that the two-time Olympic champion had come under the grip of a “puncture wound to the right side of her abdomen.” The flipping on the slope and hitting with the gates also gave her “severe muscle trauma.” Later, Shiffrin posted a video on her social media to provide an update about her injury. A few days afterward, the 29-year-old ski racer underwent surgery. However, the injury appeared to have affected her significantly. Mikaela Shiffrin remains in a complex situation concerning her health. Nonetheless, how she provides updates may improve in the days ahead. How so? The documentary series “Moving Right Along” will reveal the lesser-known aspects of the incident.

Yes! The upcoming episode of the documentary series has everything filmed. On December 29, Shiffrin shared a clip of the upcoming episode of the documentary. And it has everything: the tension, the drama, and the commentary! In a scene of the clip, Shiffrin’s fiancé, Aleksander Aamodt Kilde, explains, “And she didn’t move. She was just laying there. She’s not even lifting her legs.” Meanwhile, the screen shows the support staffers lifting injured Mikaela Shiffrin on a rescue sled. The clip also has Shiffrin’s voice in the background.

About 38-second-long clip focuses on the American ski racer’s fall on the downhill slope of Killington. The producers included Shiffrin’s voice in the backdrop to help people understand everything. In the clip, Shiffrin narrates, “I’ve never felt that kind of pain before.” Her commentary sits well with the clip, which shows her horrific fall in Killington. Therefore, certain things might become clear with the release of the episode. The producers have not announced the release date, though. But the clip has been enough to tease the interest and turn the eyes toward it. Fans can expect to see an opportunity to know things in a better way.

But how will it affect Mikaela Shiffrin’s present state? Following surgery for her past wounds, the World Champion is back in her home at Edwards. In her vast career, she has seen several gruesome falls and unforgettable injuries. In the starting quarter of this year, she came under one such fall in Italy. For her, these things are not new. Rather, something keeps her amused by all such happenings. Can you guess what it is?

Have an interesting take?

After the Killington episode, Mikaela Shiffrin came with an update. No, it was not on her regaining health. Instead, the Olympian took it to a different level. The massive impact of the fall led her to claim, “I was really lucky.” How? “Because it was probably like a millimeter from my colon,” she completed her statement. But for Shiffrin, moments like these are not something brand new. She has lived through several of them. And maybe credit goes to her luck, which has kept her on her feet.

Shiffrin accepts this aspect of the story proudly. She believes that her luck played a significant role in shaping who she is now. “I’ve had plenty of luck in my career. You can see how easily it goes wrong and how hard it is to just make it to the finish with a fast time on a daily basis,” Mikaela Shiffrin said in her conversation with Shauna Farnell. As per her, to remain active in a sport like Alpine ski racing, one may need the help of luck in every step. “There’s a fair amount of luck involved,” Shiffrin claimed. But can someone achieve this much with luck? She said, “On one hand, you create your own luck through preparation and hard work.” Because of this luck, she still has a smile on her face. Now, hopefully, the documentary series will show how it helped her in Killington that day. Isn’t it?
