Mikaela Shiffrin currently stands as the most prominent figure in the alpine skiing world. The 2 time Olympics gold medallist has conquered the slaloms with her every stride. After surpassing Ingemar Stenmark’s long-standing record earlier this year, she clinched a World Cup win record of 88. On the same note, the icon has marched forward intending to dominate the ongoing season of the 2023?24 FIS Alpine Ski World Cup.
The Audi FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup is scheduled to welcome the best of the industry from October 2023 to late March next year. The athletes have geared up to make their presence throughout 90 events for the season as they race for the title. Mikaela Shiffrin currently reigns as the Champion following her win early this year. This time, as she steps to initially earn her 89th win and defend her title, here’s a secret backing Shiffrin’s mouth-gaping accolades.

Mikaela Shiffrin reveals skiing secret
On November 2nd, an alpine skiing enthusiast took to X to share a quote by the World Champion, Mikaela Shiffrin. The quote was revealed by Fedewenzelski.com talking about 10 curving tips to help achieve higher edge angles. ?It is so important to make sure you are on your outside ski and as soon as you possibly can be. All of your speed comes from the pressure you can produce on your outside ski to get it to bend in a really short period of time.” ? (Mikaela Shiffrin), the tweet read.

Mikaela Shiffrin is best known for her outstanding skills in the discipline of slalom. At 18 years of age, the sensation came to be known as the youngest slalom champion in Olympic alpine skiing history. Following along with that, Shiffrin has added numerous titles to her name. However, while she was on an excellent streak of record-breaking wins, Shiffrin stumbled on the first day of the World Series.

Shiffrin slips from the top
The first day of the World Series took its army to the ski course at Rettenbach, Austria on the 28th of October. The skiing greats of Sara Hector, Federica Brignone, Petra Vlhova, and Lara Gut-Behrami, alongside Shiffrin and others, took to the grounds for the women’s events. In her first attempt, Shiffrin trailed behind Vlhova out of the top spot; clocking a final total of 2:20.34. While Shiffrin suffered an unforeseen break en route to her 89th victory, the 370-metre Rettenbach slope was a win for Lara Gut-Behrami.

Shiffrin revealed that she found the course a bit messy in a few spots. “I was just not able to execute perfectly,” Shiffrin said according to Inside The Games. “Having said that, the top women today, they skied just unbelievable,” she added. The World Series will continue with the schedule on the 11th of November as they head to Levi, Finland. With her persistent presence and performance, Shiffrin will look for a strong comeback.
