Sports enthusiasts and fans have their list of favorite athletes. It may come as a surprise to some, but athletes also have their favorites. During an award ceremony, Alpine skier Lindsey Vonn opened up about the person she considers her favourite athlete.

Soon after the event concluded, the four-time Olympian spoke with some of the media personnel available at the venue. Vonn opened up in detail about the athlete she appreciates the most.
Lindsey Vonn opens up about her favorite Olympics’ instance
The media personnel she spoke with asked the three-time Olympic medalist about her most ?treasured Olympic moment for a female? athlete. The journalist asked the question in lieu of the approaching International Women?s Day.
Pondering over the question for a brief second, or two, Vonn said, ?For a female?there?s so many.?
The most decorated female ski racer continued, ?I mean, I personally love Simone Biles. She is so strong and I just love how? I love her personality and how tough she is. She is just like a little bundle of muscle and I love it!?

Although Vonn revealed her favorite Olympic moment at the ceremony as Biles, she had not concluded her statement. The skier had another athlete in mind, one that inspired her, who also competes in the sport from which she retired recently.

The athlete in question is the Czech snowboarder and alpine skier Ester Ledeck?. And the aspect that Vonn said she found most motivating about the athlete is the fact that she competes in two different sports. Moreover, the amazing thing about Ledeck? is that she has won World Cup events in snowboarding and alpine skiing events.
Reflecting on the Czech snowboarder?s accolades, Vonn added, ?There?s obviously been a lot of other stories, you know, from people that have overcome different obstacles. I think Ester Ledeck?’s is an incredible story as well winning in two separate events, like who does that!?
What was the award ceremony that Vonn attended?
The event in question is the 2019 Laureus World Sports Awards which the skier attended to collect her Laureus Spirit of Sport Award. The athlete received the award due to her contribution to the sport.

Vonn had announced her retirement from competitive alpine skiing only a few days before the award ceremony. Therefore, at the time of the event, the news about her retirement was still fresh.

And when Vonn walked up on stage to collect her award and give a speech, she could not hold back her tears. However, the teary-eyed athlete successfully delivered her speech during the ceremony.
