It is no secret that athletes continue to maintain their fitness even after retirement. American Alpine Skier Lindsey Vonn is one such name. Having retired in 2019 because of a permanent injury to her knee, Vonn has continued rehab and has maintained a top fitness level.

Lindsey Vonn has the same trainer as The Rock and Kardashians

Gunnar Peterson is a personal trainer for celebrities. He is also a published author, motivational speaker, creator of major fitness programs, and developer of fitness machines focussing on functional training.

More importantly, he is the personal trainer of Dwyane ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Lindsey Vonn, and the Kardashians, to name a few. He has been a key figure in helping Dwyane recover from his injuries to continue with his WWE and acting career.

In a recent Instagram post, Peterson posted a reel of Lindsey working out in his gym. The skier looked extremely focused as the caption read “reps for the win.”

Vonn and Dwyane’s friendship

The story of how Lindsey and Dwyane became friends is a rather unique one. Johnson was once featured on the cover of ‘Sports Illustrated.’ During an interview for the same, he was asked if there was anyone who could keep up with him. He surprisingly took Lindsey’s name. After this, The Rock’s agents contacted Lindsey, and the two have been friends ever since.

Lindsey, on the other hand, considers Dwyane much more than just a friend. She considers him her mentor. Vonn considers him to be a person she can always count on. She also mentioned that Dwyane is probably the nicest human being she has ever met.

Incidentally, the two stars also exchange voice notes. Vonn revealed that Johnson once sang “happy birthday” for her in a voice note.

Vonn became the first global ambassador of ‘Project Rock’, an apparel brand owned by the great WWE superstar himself.

The relationship the two share is indeed a heartwarming one, and to think that it started with a simple answer in an interview makes it all the more special.
