Her dad passed away after an accident in 2019 and left behind mental scars. Likewise, she always speaks highly about him and relaunched the Fund on Father’s Day. Their focus is to give out need-based, direct funding for national team athletes, helping them reach their goals and objectives. It is a great initiative.

“My Dad was passionate about elite sports and believed in supporting athletes who are hardworking, disciplined & constantly pushing themselves to be better and overcome challenges to compete at the top of their game. His passion for sport & athletes lives on through this fund which we created to honor his life and legacy,” mentioned Shiffrin on Twitter.
In addition, she also wanted this to carry on and loved the effort of everyone involved. Significantly, the relationship between Shiffrin and her dad helps the athletes to reach their goals as these funds aim at the sole purpose of helping them out.
