This is an impressive comeback from the skier who is looking to reclaim her throne back. With two Olympic gold medals and one silver, another World Cup title will do her the world of good. In the meantime, after the downhill race, her boyfriend Aleksander Aamodt Kilde hugged her at the end. He couldn’t believe what just transpired.
Kilde surprised with Shiffrin’s sensational victory
At the end of the Alpine skiing race, Kilde went towards her as the couple hugged in utter disbelief. He couldn’t believe her victory as Shiffrin is back to being at her best. This was a stunning victory for her as Kilde was seen saying what he thought about her race. He mentioned:
“Are you kidding me? That was amazing. How did you actually do that?
Hence, it was a memorable moment for the couple as they celebrated her sensational victory. While Kilde is out of the World Cup title race, Shiffrin still has her work cut out, until the next event. Her rival Petra Vlhova is in the form of her life after winning the Olympic gold medal. In this race, she finished 16th, dampening her hopes of winning her second World Cup title. Thus, the next race will be crucial for both of them.
