Mikaela Shiffrin has pushed the boundaries of Alpine skiing since her first World Cup victory 12 years ago. With a newly added 91st win, she is on her 100-win run journey.
Following her recent downhill victory in St. Moritz, Switzerland, the record-breaking skier found herself confronting some doubts. However, all the shadows of uncertainty were cleared as her boyfriend, Aleksander Kilde, came to give her uplifting words of encouragement.

In a post on X by The Olympic Games, the account shared a post-race interview with Mikaela Shiffrin. In the video, the interviewer asked her, “What do you think you need to do to be considered the greatest female athlete of all time?” To which the queen of the snowy slopes replied, “I don’t think I can do anything to truly be the greatest of all time. For many people, it’s not me. And that’s okay.” To bolster Mikaela Shiffrin’s claim as the greatest alpine skier of all time, numerous skiing stars voiced their admiration for her inspirational journey.

And her boyfriend, Aleksander Kilde, was one of the many voices that stood out. Kilde shared, “She works the hardest than all of us”. He continued, “Me knowing that she’s the most winning athlete in the world, and still she’s always, you know, fighting for those next levels always. That’s something special in her, and I think that’s going to make her win even more races than we think.” This drew the spotlight on the immense respect Kilde holds for Mikaela, not only as his girlfriend but also as an athlete.

Kilde’s admiration for Shiffrin
Mikaela Shiffrin, with her ferocity, left Italian downhill legends Sofia Goggia and Federica Brignone outpaced with a time of 1:28:24. Clinching her 91st World Cup win at the Audi FIS Alpine Ski Work Cup 2023/24, Shiffrin also took the lead in the standings of the season. In awe of his lady love, the super-G Norwegian hunk, Aleksander Kilde, couldn’t contain his admiration for her.

He shared a picture of the slalom master, Shiffrin, dressed in a blue puffer jacket with a Barilla helmet and wrote, “Bosslady” adding blazing heart emojis and a gold medal emoji. Despite her astounding achievements, Mikaela Shiffrin remains grounded, emphasizing, “Some people will consider me the greatest, and some people don’t even consider me part of the conversation. I think both of those things are perfectly fine.”
