4 Years After Breaking Ties With Nike, US Olympic Legend Reveals Dark Side of the Deal

The Olympic household name Allyson Felix is a force to be reckoned with in the track and field world. She with her staunch skills and stellar performances knows to reign in everything she does. Felix is the first woman to ever win seven Olympic gold medals in track and field events. Overall, this sprinting sensation has a total of 31 medals, and this makes her one of the most decorated athletes in the history of track and field.

However, there are always two sides of a coin and Felix never shied away from sharing this side of her career as well. Her pregnancy was one of the main factors that brought out a different side of Felix and she made sure to voice each and every opinion she had about her big feud with the giant brand Nike. After so many years of this fight, the athlete has revealed the real reason for her to stand up against such a big brand.

Olympic legend Allyson Felix opens up about the emotional reason behind standing up against Nike

Almost everybody in the sports industry today is aware of the difficulties faced by the Olympic star during her pregnancy and her feud with Nike. After the disrespectful encounter of Felix and Nike, a lot of things changed for the athlete. In a recent interview with NBC, she shared multiple reasons behind her taking one of the biggest steps of her life.

Nike was at that moment one of the major incomes for Allyson Felix, but apart from womanhood, she took this major decision of picking up a fight against Nike for her to-be-born daughter. When asked about the same in the NBC interview, she expressed, “It was my daughter. I think it was watching her come into this world. And, she had a very difficult process of getting here and just thinking about her and her generation”.

The main reason behind doing everything was her daughter. Although the Olympic sensation was terrified, she did her best she could to protect the future generation of her daughter.

Allyson Felix showcased her love for her daughter

The Olympic star Allyson Felix opted for the bigger picture. She already had a complicated pregnancy procedure with her daughter as Felix was diagnosed with severe preeclampsia and high blood pressure which was tough on her and her baby during pregnancy. So, she didn’t want her daughter to face any more issues even after growing up and her voicing against matters like this would make it a better place for her.

Now after so many years of having her first daughter Camryn, she expressed that being a mom to her is the greatest joy of Allyson’s life. She just loves watching her grow and being present for the tennis lessons and the drop-off and pick-off. The Olympic sensation appreciates every little thing with her daughter and is now more than elated as she is pregnant with her second child.
