Is the support between Tara Davis-Woodhall and Hunter Woodhall the ultimate example of a power couple in sports?

Few couples get to revel on the grandest stage together. For Tara Davis-Woodhall and her husband Hunter Woodhall, it has been quite a ride to the top at the French capital last month. The long jumper made waves at the 33rd Olympic Games as she picked up gold in the event, while Hunter came up with similar success in the men’s T62 400m race at the 2024 Paralympics just a month later. Now, as the athletes take some time to bask in their shared glory, Hunter can’t help but be a little overwhelmed with emotions.

The Davis-Woodhall couple made fans go aww as they took to social media before the Paralympics commenced to highlight how they were “stronger together. Naturally, with his wife being a rock in his life, Hunter feels it’s only right to tip the hat at the 25-year-old’s way.

On September 12, the Paralympian posted a heartwarming tribute on Instagram Threads for his beloved to underscore how they’ve crossed oceans together. “To my wife,” Hunter got to the point straight away. Sharing several images of themselves from the Paris Paralympic Games, the University of Arkansas alum went on to pen the emotions of his quivering heart further, and with each word, he only made it more apparent that he couldn’t have achieved his golden glory without Tara cheering to the best of her abilities in his corner.

Noting that his success wasn’t a result of his individual efforts, Hunter elaborated, “You built me up and kept me accountable. You believed in me, and helped me grow.” He also hailed his wife for revealing to him the ways to enjoy the moment and find happiness on the tracks. With that, Hunter confesses, he learned how to be an athlete and a competitor from his better half. “We did it,” came the final words of his message to Tara, and fans shouldn’t find it difficult to imagine a beaming Hunter looking fondly at his beau.

The athletes’ PDA will justifiably make their fans feel the love, this wouldn’t be the first time the couple extended heartfelt gratitude toward each other. Ever since Tara Davis-Woodhall won her golden hardware in the City of Love, she has been stalling the celebrations in hopes of kicking off the grandeur with her hubby. And now that he’s bagged a similar feat, the duo can’t stop marveling at each other’s prowess.

Just last weekend, in a social media post, both the gold winners were seen being emotional as they looked back at their younger selves. “I would just tell this little girl… Never give up on your dreams, like you’re not dreaming too big. Some people would doubt on what I was doing, or make fun of the way I looked, being such a strong, small girl. But there’s always a reason for me to be fit and strong. And I would tell her that we finally did it,” said Tara Davis as she looked at a picture of herself from the days gone by. On the other hand, her husband could only manage to say that his message to a younger Hunter would to be just believe in his abilities.

With all the dedicated training regime over the years, both Tara and Hunter knew something good was coming their way. On September 9, in an interview with PEOPLE, both the track and field stars claimed that they had “blind faith” in each other’s salt and believed that their Parisian campaign would generate something truly spectacular. Now, after their collective success, the Davis-Woodhalls can finally take the lid off their celebrations. What new heights would you want to see these two emphatic stars attain in the coming days?
