According to USA TODAY, they started a discussion on the project in 2022.
The $7.5 Billion company & professional skateboarder Hawk are on a mission to lend a helping hand to fund public parks in areas where skateboarding opportunities are limited. Together, they have designed a range of fingerboards with unique designs, including snap-on shoes for enhanced control. This innovative approach aims to make fingerboard accessible to enthusiasts of all levels, acting as a gateway to the world of skateboarding.
Furthermore, Hawk is actively engaged in a non-profit initiative called “The Skatepark Project,” aimed at assisting underprivileged communities in establishing secure and all-inclusive public skateparks for young individuals. He said, “That’s my proudest work. And it’s something that when I enter into any sort of partnership, I make sure that they will support it”. In this endeavor, Hot Wheels plays a pivotal role by providing support to the Skatepark Project, funding the construction of skateparks in areas where access to such facilities is limited.

Similar to the King of Skateboarding, the Senior Vice President is too excited and happy about the interesting collaboration. He said, “We’re excited to be the exclusive toy partner at Tony Hawk’s Vert Alert and X Games California to further our mission for Hot Wheels Skate and bring the fun of fingerboard to these incredible events for the first time.”

As X Games’ official toy partner, Hot Wheels Skate is supporting Tony Hawk’s Vert Alert, where top finishers earn coveted X Games invites. Starting on July 21, Hot Wheels Skate will be in the X Fest fan activation area, offering kid-friendly activities. Young fans can learn from pros at the Hot Wheels Skate mini-ramp clinic and witness impressive tricks throughout the weekend. They introduce fresh awards and prize packs for junior skateboarding events, including the Woodward “Best Trick Contest”.
