In the world of martial arts, Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan stand out for their global influence. Lee is known for his defensive martial arts style, which he learned from his master. Jackie Chan, on the other hand, is famous for his action comedy films. Both represent the pinnacle of the action film industry in the east and the west.

In an interview in 2016, Chan revealed his first experience with the martial arts legend. What was it that made Jackie Chan walk through the memory lane?

When Nostalgia hit Jackie Chan

For Chan, Lee was an inspiration when he entered the set as an amateur stuntman. He acted opposite the martial arts icon in the movies Fist of Fury (1972) and Enter the Dragon (1973). Chan talks about being amazed by how Lee worked on the set with all the stuntmen completely surrounding him.

?I have been doing stunt for all my life. I did two movie with Bruce Lee. Tough guy. I was a low class stuntman at that time I was way behind. Whatever Bruce Lee go there?s a ton of stuntmen around him. Yeah I just watching. Wow! That?s a Bruce Lee,? said Chan.

The Legacy of Bruce Lee

Unfortunately, the martial arts legend died at the young age of 32. Despite his early passing, he managed to carve his ideals into modern martial arts (MMA). Close to 50 years after his death, his legacy is still being carried on.

Lee founded his hybrid form of martial arts, Jeet Kune Do and greatly aided the formation of the MMA. He also practiced defense over offense, which made his style special and unique amongst any other kind of MMA.
