Famous martial artist Jackie Chan did not have an easy childhood. While focussing on his training routines, he had a good amount of guidance. Thus, in an interview in 2010 with famous talk show host Jonathan Ross, Chan explained his martial arts routines during childhood. Chan described the rigorous training methods he underwent and the severe punishment he received if he failed to complete a task. Jackie mentioned how “horrible”?it was during the interview.

He narrated the rigorous routines he followed and gave a clear picture of what it was like, to train as an elite martial arts expert.
Jackie Chan opens up about his remarkable training routines!
When he turned six, he used to wake up early and start his workouts.?“We get up at five o clock in the morning. First is a run. Run without bouncing. Keeping it low. Run with two cups of water and if you drop the water, the teachers will rip you,”?said Chan. With teachers punishing him for his mistakes, Jackie honed his craft to perfection.?
He continued,?“Then after that, upside down, handstand for 1 hour. After that, punch and kick and then the routine like karate habit. And whatever we do, the most difficult pose does movements and stop for 20 minutes. And then go again and stop for another 20 mins.”
Handstands for five to ten seconds would?improve?one’s upper body, as well as, helps to build core strength. Chan did a handstand for one hour to put things into perspective. After disclosing his routines, Ross questioned how he felt about it, and he replied,
“It is horrible.”

Even at 68, Jackie Chan remains fit than most people his age and below. For starters, he runs three to five miles daily as a warmup for his exercise routines. Building endurance for high-intensity?training, Chan starts his intense workout routines. On Mondays, he does a complete body and core routine, including bench presses, sit-ups, lunges, etc.?
On Tuesday and Thursday, he performs MMA and Kung Fu. Wednesdays see him practicing another set of core body workouts that include front squats, military presses, chest fly, etc. Routines are similar on Fridays too. With all the high-intensity training routines, he rests on Saturdays and Sundays.
