Although the Atlanta Braves lost Game 5 to the Houston Astros last night, they gave their fans moments of joy during the game. First baseman Freddie Freeman gave them one of those moments in the third inning, crushing a monstrous home run to give the Braves a momentary lead in the game.
While this would be Freeman’s only run in the game, the 32-year-old ensured he tied a personal record of his.

Atlanta Braves’ Freddie Freeman smashes an HR record
The Braves got off to a perfect start in Game 5, with Adam Duvall smashing a Grand Slam in the bottom of the first inning. In the next two innings, the Astros eliminated the four-point gap as they scored runs off clever hits.
During the bottom of the third inning, Freeman stepped up to the plate, squaring off against Astros’ starting pitcher Framber Valdez. After Valdez recorded two strikes, the southpaw let loose. He smashed a 95mph pitch straight into the State Farm Deck to send the Braves 5-4 up.
This home run travelled a mammoth distance of 460 ft, which tied his career record. Prior to this hit, Freeman scored a home run covering an identical distance in Game 1 of the 2019 NLDS against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Game 6 to take place in Houston
While the Astros clinched an important victory yesterday, they still face a do-or-die situation in Game 6. However, they will play in front of their fans in the Minute Maid Park after picking up one win from three games on the road.
For the Braves to win their first World Series in 26 years, they will need to win just one game. But they will have to do it away from home, which poses a greater challenge than Game 5. Whether they can achieve it, only time will tell. Stay tuned!
