When asked to elaborate on the way Bruce Lee would fight, Chuck Norris recalled the martial arts expert’s rules. When Lee first began fighting, he refused to kick higher than the waist. He would only kick below. However, to Norris’ credit, he began practicing higher kicks and soon aced his new skill.
Something that both actors Chuck Norris and Jackie Chan agreed on was how fast Lee was when he fought. Despite his rules, Lee would make efforts to learn new techniques and styles. Contrary to popular belief, he had an open mind and would try to inculcate new fighting techniques within his old ones. Norris mentioned how Lee “never believed in only one style, or one style is the best, he felt that there were so many ‘best’ of everything.” That’s what made him an amazing martial artist.

Chuck Norris met Bruce Lee in 1968 when the former won the World Karate title in New York City. The two began working out before Lee went back to Hong Kong to make it big in acting. When the two met again, it was for the epic fight scene in Way of the Dragon. The fight scene not only established their on-screen chemistry, but it also strengthened their friendship.
