The abundance of rodeos has resulted in a glut of material for the bull riding community. Thousands upon thousands of rodeo enthusiasts have descended upon Billings, Montana, for the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) Unleash The Beast (UTB) Wrangler Invitational. Thirty-six professional bull riders, including many world champions, competed in the event. Despite their skill, these seasoned bull riders couldn’t beat the rookie’s score.

The PBR event was dominated by Brady Turgeon, a 19-year-old rodeo rookie, who scored a monstrous 90 points in Round 1 to win by a wide margin and excite everyone watching.

The fans were in for a treat when Brady Turgeon competed in his first PBR event. Turgeon was initially matched with Death Warrant for the evening’s first ride, but the judges ultimately decided to scrap the pairing due to technical difficulties. As he mounted his second bull of the evening, the young cowboy from Arizona seemed unfazed by the challenge. The disappointment of being dismissed from his first PBR ride served as some inspiration for the young rider as he prepared to give it his all in his second attempt.

A loud scream could be heard inside First Interstate Arena at MetraPark when Turgeon rode through the metal chutes on the bull, Tijuana Two-Step. His fellow riders and stock contractors were thrilled at the rear of the chutes as he was awarded a 90 for his courageous effort. The crowd reacted in disbelief when a rookie scored a perfect 90 since this is a very difficult feat.

A perfect score is difficult to get, even for seasoned veterans, but this newbie managed it. Turgeon has earned 29 UTB points for his efforts, putting him in third place overall going into Sunday’s Round 3 as reported by PBR. Day 3 at Magic City finds him at No. 49 in the UTB rankings, thanks to his Round 2 victory.
