As the current eleventh-placed PRCA bull rider, Ernie Courson Jr. also competed in the ten-day tournament. However, there is a redemptive tale involving the cowboy.
The eleventh-ranked PRCA bull rider discusses the most terrifying moment of his career, which occurred at the Reno Rodeo a year ago, in a recent report by KOLO 8 News Now. Despite the fact that last year didn’t go as planned, he has trained hard both physically and emotionally in preparation for the event.
The comeback to the bull riding arena

As of right now, Ernie Courson Jr. ranks as the eleventh-best bull rider in the PRCA standings. The Florida native made the long trip to Nevada to participate in the competition that once nearly terminated his bull riding career. A year ago, Courson Jr. had the worst ride of his life. He was a top-10 performer in the PRCA at the time. On June 16, 2022, the cowboy’s world was turned upside down. Courson Jr. was riding the bull Regulator in the short round when the animal suddenly sprang out of the chute, knocking him off and smashing his face into the bull’s hump.

The cowboy was knocked out in the arena, and paramedics rushed him to the hospital immediately after. After waking up in the hospital, Courson Jr. claims that the first thing he heard was his wife saying, “Wake up baby.” The cowboy woke up in a hospital room with many unanswered thoughts running through his mind. As per KOLO 8 News Now, his wife answered all of his questions, saying, “You broke your face.”

But now that he was well again, he came back, and this year was the year he was finally redeemed. Even though he was bucked off early on Thursday night, he was able to put the past in the past and try again. The cowboy further claimed that his loved ones played a major role in his decision to return to this risky profession.
The cowboy’s rodeo endeavors
Courson Jr. didn’t get along with PBR, as he stuck with the PRCA scene. In 2019, the Florida cowboy began his career in the PRCA. However, in the 2020 season, Courson Jr. earned $9,708 and placed 60th in the world. He also had an unsatisfactory 2021 campaign, finishing 130th in the world and earning $5,082.

Despite suffering a serious facial injury that year, the cowboy nevertheless managed to have a successful 2022 season, one in which he won eight rodeos and earned $83,647. The cowboy is having a successful current season as well, with $98,436 in earnings and a PRCA ranking of 11.
