British bodybuilder, Sarah Davis, embarked on her bodybuilding journey in lieu of her traumatic past. She faced severe criticism for her physical appearance which resulted in an acute negative body image. Besides that, she also experienced early menopause in her forties which further deteriorated her health concerns. After treatment, Davis decided to focus on her fitness and signed up for a boot camp.

Instantly hooked on the sessions, the athlete only grew fonder of working out. Months passed by, and she enrolled in a personal training session that geared up her shredded physique. She got particularly addicted to weightlifting, and that’s how she discovered her iron-pumping potential. Later, in 2019, she started competing and even grabbed the fifth position in her first event itself. Davis will be turning 50 next month and has already planned out her strategy to fame, per Metro.co.uk. Let’s find out what that is.

According to a recent article by the source, Davis’s athletic journey started late after her forties. Soon finding her purpose, she finished off as the fifth-best competitor in a Masters Figure event, primarily against other older women. Fast forward to the present, turning 50 has greater hopes in store for her. She strives to challenge the norms and earn a pro card at the grand age. “Next month I will celebrate my 50th birthday… I’ve told myself this is going to be the year I increase my size,” she revealed.

Moreover, the athlete unveiled her intention to climb up the ladder and compete at international events. She aims to do so by, “taking on up to 3,500 cals a day”. Apparently, Davis was never proud of her body, and a drastic comment by her ex-partner accelerated the self-scrutiny. However, her first achievement in the sphere boosted her confidence.

Later on, she went on to win an Overall Female title at a qualifier event by the British Natural Bodybuilding Federation at the age of 49. This triumph was particularly significant for her because she out-competed women of all ages this time, eradicating her belief that older women can’t better their younger counterparts. Nonetheless, her endeavor will solely be based upon natural gains, without using enhancers or steroids. Here’s what she has planned out.

As the sources revealed, Davis has doubled up on her calorie intake, while sticking to the same meals but only in greater volumes. She has also opted out from competing until 2024 to focus on her muscle builds and necessary preparations. After her birthday, she will set foot on her bulking period spanning over ten months. Moreover, her biggest supporters, her daughter, Evie, and husband, Clifford, have never left her side on her aspirations.

Primarily, Davis’s goal is to level up from the amateur division to the professional zone around the age of 51. Hence, she remarks, “Fifty is just a number for me. I’m breezing into my sixth decade in the best mental and physical shape of my life” Similarly, Susan Guidi, a grandmother-to-five, set about on her power-lifting journey at 65, and has no plans to back down until 80.
