Matchweek 11 of the ongoing Premier League season pitted the Manchester heavyweights against each other. Earlier today, Old Trafford played host to another chapter of the intense rivalry between Manchester United and Manchester City.

With United showing poor form in recent games, their manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is facing criticism from millions across the world. After the Manchester derby today, Jamaican sprinter Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce joined those millions, sharing her criticisms of United on social media.

Fraser-Pryce ranks among the greatest sprinters of all-time. During her glorious career, she won three gold medals, four silver medals and a bronze medal at the Olympics. In this year’s Tokyo Olympics, the 34-year-old won a gold medal in the 4x100m relay and a silver medal in the women’s 100m sprint.

In a few tweets on Twitter during and after the Manchester derby, Fraser-Pryce questioned Solskjaer’s decisions. She began by criticizing the Norwegian for leaving out Jadon Sancho, who United purchased for nearly $100million.

She then mocked the team for playing with just three defenders in the back against a strong City side. In addition, she mentioned she would be a fan of any team that beat United, further adding that she supports their rivals Arsenal.

Prior to today’s game, they lost 5-0 to Liverpool in the ‘Theatre of Dreams’. Today, City showed their class all over the pitch. In the seventh minute, a cross from Jo?o Cancelo landed up into the net thanks to a touch from Eric Bailly to give City the lead.

Bernardo Silva doubled their advantage just before half-time, squeezing in a cross from Cancelo. While this result leaves United nine points off league leaders Chelsea, it also distances them from other title contenders. Whether United can catch them in the future, only time will tell.
