The FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup, the ultimate international ski circuit competition, has resumed. After the world’s athletes left the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022, they are now back in their Alpine Ski World Cup race events.

Despite being an Olympic medalist, Norwegian alpine skier, Henrik Kristoffersen hadn’t won a World Cup slalom in over a year. However, that changed today, as he managed to win his first race after the Olympics.

Moreover, the win was even more emphatic, as he nearly failed right in the very beginning but managed to come back and win.

Kristoffersen wins first Alpine Ski World Cup race in a year

Norwegian skier Henrik Kristoffersen failed to medal at the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022. However, he has hit the ground (or ice) running at the FIS World Cup.

Today, he won his first Alpine Ski World Cup race in over a year’s time. Suffice to say, Kristoffersen must be elated to finally catch a break and come out with a win. However, it could have gone all wrong for the 27-year-old, as he almost faltered right at the beginning of his run.

Nevertheless, he put on a display of his fighting spirit by making up for his early mistake in his run. Kristoffersen went down the hill as fast as he could in his second run of the Alpine Ski World Cup race. Even though he was behind the leader of the first run during the middle two sectors of his downhill run, he made it to the finish line 0.14 seconds ahead of the fastest score.

Henrik’s elation was quite apparent as he roared victoriously at the bottom of the hill. Moreover, his grin ran across from ear-to-ear as he stood highest atop the podium and raised his hands in triumph.
