Orange County Sheriff’s department has been looking for three Olympic medals- gold, silver, and bronze, belonging to a member of the US Women’s Volleyball team.

Reportedly, the medals have been stolen from a player’s home in Laguna Hills, Southern California. The medals were stolen from the location they were stored temporarily .

Olympic medals stolen from members of the US Women’s Volleyball team

According to reports from the Sheriff’s department, the medals were inside a safe that was taken during a burglary. The incident occurred on the evening of October 29, when someone broke into a residence in Laguna Hills.

The 3 medals stolen were gold, silver and bronze. The gold medal was won in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the silver medal was secured in the 2012 London Olympics. While the bronze medal is from the 2016 Rio Olympics.

However, the authorities weren’t able to identify the owner of the medals immediately. As of now, no arrests have been made in the case.

Not the first medal robbery in the area

Shockingly, this isn’t the first time such an incident has been reported in Orange County. Another member of the US Women’s Volleyball team reported, earlier this year, about the theft of her gold medal.

As per the records, Jordyn Poulter filed a report stating that on May 25, her Tokyo 2020 gold medal was stolen. She mentioned that the incident occurred at a parking lot in Anaheim after someone broke into her car.

At the time of the incident, the police arrested a 31-year-old Anaheim resident who, according to the police, had a “lengthy criminal history,”. However, the police weren’t able to locate the missing medal. Later, in June, the owners of a barbershop in Anaheim returned the medal to the police station. The couple, reportedly, discovered the medal in a ditch outside their business and handed it to the police.
