In the 2023 US Open Swimming Championship, Chase Kalisz continued his Tokyo Olympics form. The 29-year-old clinched the top position in the 200m IM event. Chase completed the event in 1:57.43 seconds, bettering Hubert Kos and Trenton Julian. However, it was Shaine Casas who made a record in the same event in the 2023 US Open Swimming Championship.
