Despite facing challenges in the beginning he managed to get the highest score in the round. He scored 7.10, the highest single-wave score of the event. Initially, he struggled with the short waves and fell frequently. He started his last chance by facing his first wave with a lovely little tail drop flow.  On the second one, he went straight around into the curve and turned skipping the fence straight up the back.

The Aussie started professional surfing in 2017 at the junior level. He is the winner of the WSL Hydralyte Sports QLD Pro Junior title in Gold Coast in 2020. Qualifying for the next round is a massive achievement for the young surfer.
