Skateboarding is a creative sport coupled with a sense of adrenaline rush. The various maneuvers performed during skating are what make it special. Over the years, various tricks were invented and performed by legends of the game which are still remembered and applied. But, the game has evolved and many young pro skateboarders continue to find new tricks. Along similar lines, recently, a clip resurfaced on social media showing a skateboarder performing a unique trick during a competition.
In competitions, a skateboarder gets points for performing tricks like 900, Frontside 360 double kickflip, Double McTwist, and others. Each trick has its points in terms of difficulty, creativity, and execution. At this stage, pro skateboarders perform some unique tricks to gain maximum points. The same was witnessed when a skateboarder executed an alleged world’s first trick, leaving fans divided.
A pro pulls the ‘World’s First’ at a skateboarding competition

In a resurfaced clip of a skateboarding competition, a skateboarder is seen performing a difficult trick that he executed perfectly. The clip was shared by Rumps Portugal, a skateboard ramp and rail manufacturer on its Instagram page. In the caption, the page penned “World’s First Alley Oop KickFlip Mc Twist“. It also tagged Japanese skateboarder Moto Shibata and conceded that he “wins the BEST TRICK.”

Interestingly, the clip is of Tony Hawk’s Vert Alert contest in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Japanese Moto Shibata performed in the world’s first alley-oop kickflip mac twist and won the prize of Men’s Vert Best Trick at the contest. In the video, Moto can be seen approaching the slope, jumping, and executing the trick in the air, then landing on the slope again. Moto is currently ranked fourth in men’s global ranking in the vert section of skateboarding.
The video got more than 45,000 likes and loads of comments from the netizens. But, the claim of the World’s First trick didn’t go well with the fan saying that it had happened earlier too.
Fans divided after watching the incredible trick

There is no doubt that Moto Shibata performed a difficult trick without any hassle. But the netizens got divided on whether it is the first time or has happened earlier in a different skateboarding contest. One skateboarding fanatic wrote claiming that twenty years ago the same trick was done by Bucky Lasek and said, “ He’s mad late catching up“.

Another online surfer wrote, “Look like we’re not in reality anymore but in a video game,” describing his disbelief at what he has seen. Another fan said, “Insane my god so smooth & clean..” pointing towards the ideal execution of the trick. One fan wrote, “Otto Rocket did it first,” claiming that Otto had done the trick before, while another applauded Shibata and commented, “That looked amazing” displaying his surprise on the trick.
