Tie-down roping is one of the most challenging and interesting rodeo events. In this event, the cowboy riding on a horse has to rope a running calf with a lasso around his neck and then tie his three legs with a short rope. The time taken to do that is the score of the rodeo.

All rodeo events across the country feature tie-down roping events.  In these, many talented rodeos take part and surprise the spectators with their performances. Recently, the spectators in one such event witnessed the same. The Dodge City rodeo in Kansas saw a talented rodeo manage an incredible score in the tie-roping event.

The Dodge City round-up rodeo is in progress. It has various events among them is tie-down roping. This event saw an incredible run by a pro rodeo by the name of John Douch. The rodeo managed to rope and tie the calf in 8.6 seconds. The clip posted on Twitter by the cowboy channel shows the cowboy from Abilene, Texas performing the tie-down in such a short time.

When the door opened, John was on a horse and threw the rope on the calf which stopped. He quickly got off the horse, grounded the calf on its side by her legs, and tied her three legs quickly. He managed to do that all in just 8.6 seconds. The tie-down roping event requires the rodeos to be accurate in their throw, have pace in running to the calf, have agility in grounding and tying the calf, and must keep their horse calm during the entire run.
