The spectators at the event said the horse was covered in a trap before he was euthanized. Afterward, it was dragged out of the ground with the help of a tractor. She said, “I started crying and I ran away, I was terrified.” Another spectator from Manitoba Janice King said the incident has scarred her mind and she wonders how others including children might have reacted. Jane said, “I wish I wasn’t even there. I love horses and I love to watch barrel racing and pole weaving, but these ones are kind of barbaric…I’m ashamed that I was there.” The incident is a sad one and proves that horse lives are left at the mercy. The authorities should come up with solutions that keep animals safe.
