An equestrian like any profession has an age limit for participating in competitive races. Therefore, after a certain point, they retire and pass the baton to the next person. However, 72-year-old Danny Ramsey has defied this notion and continues to do the job every day.

On June 16, the National Stud pulled off the curtains from the incredible feat of 72-year-old Danny Ramsey. In the video, he can be seen walking, jogging, and running with his horse Classic Causeway. As the video advances, Ramsey performs all the duties of a staunch equestrian and can be seen washing his horse all while carrying heavy buckets of water. Interestingly, the song ‘Happy’ by Pharrel Williams added the brownie points to the video, as it shows the exuberance of the 72-year-old.

Mr. Danny Ramsey is considered to be the most positive person in the racing. The legendary exercise rider has flown to England with Classic Causeway to participate in Royal Ascot. Despite going through multiple injuries in his career, his energy at this age has put him in high regard in the eyes of both racing enthusiasts and fans.

Born in Nassau, Bahamas, Danny had a tough childhood. His parents had passed away by the age of eight. After that, he was raised by his elder brother. It was his sibling who introduced Danny to the equestrian arena. His brother was a strict teacher, but his exacting teachings forced him to devote his full attention to the minute details of the work.

The 72-year-old is in this business since 1964. He was a jockey in the beginning, but after a bad accident, he became an exercise rider. In his more than 50 years of professional journey, he was employed only by three employers. The first was Albert Winnick, with whom Danny was associated for 26 years until the former passed. Mr.Winnick was a father figure to him. Then he joined John Ward, with whom he stayed till 2012. Now, he is employed by Kenny McPeek. He was approached by him for his skill and loyalty. The horse racing community is in awe of the 72-year-old rider and has corresponded love and appreciation for his work.
