Winning an event for the consecutive second time is a thrill in itself. Sharon White the 49-year-old equestrian has experienced that thrill at Millbrook Horse Trials. She won the event for the second time this year after winning it last year. Last year she rode The King’s Spirit to victory.

This year she rode on her 11-year-old gelding Claus 63. The Millbrook Horse Trials are popular equestrian events that feature natural cross-country courses and world-class competition. Equestrians from around the world participate in this event. Sharon can to this event with a winning mindset which she demonstrated with her performance.

Sharon White was the overnight leader on the final day. She had a comfortable lead and even if she put one rail down she would have survived. But, the 49-year-old equestrian secured a clear jump in time. She won the event with a score of 36.2. She also competed with another horse Shirsheen Ice with whom she secured fourth place. Sharon co-owns the 9-year-old gelding Shirsheen Ice with  Kathleen Neuhoff and Beth Lendrum.

Will Faudree claimed both the second and third place. The second place he secured was with  Mama’s Magic Way. The 12-year-old gelding Mama’s Magic Way is owned by Jennifer Mosing and Sterling Stables. The third position he secured with Pfun. The 16-year-old gelding is owned by Jennifer Mosing. Sharon was happy with Claus 63’s performance and said, “Claus was just a rock star. I have to be careful that he’s not too lackadaisical at this point because it’s just so easy for him“.

She further said that the event had wonderful people involved and that energizes the horse. Besides that, he is a good jumper and very competitive. Speaking on her 9-year-old gelding she said, “Shirsheen Ice is a very different ride — he was much more work, but I thought he tried his little heart out“. She was overall happy with the course and had an appreciation for everyone involved in her victory.

White’s co-owned horse Jaguar Duende won her Preliminary division with three rails in hand, this weekend. She co-owns the horse with Sandy Niles and also thanked other horse co-owners and appreciated their contribution to the development of her horses.

She never forgot her food friend back at home Anita Antenucci, who she thinks, “owns part of all my horses” because of her belief in her effort and work. Sharon’s next target is the American Eventing Championships in Lexington, Kentucky. In that event, Claus 63 will compete in the Advanced Championship and Shirsheen Ice will compete in the Intermediate Championship.

The win of Sharon at the event is good news for her and will act as a motivating factor for her coming events.
