Ronnie Coleman, the bodybuilding legend, opened up in an interview in 2018 wherein he stated how difficult it was when he hit 300 pounds for the first time. Coleman shares how he was getting bigger and bigger and how that affected his daily routine. 

Ronnie Coleman is a bodybuilding icon who has won the coveted Mr. Olympia title for eight consecutive years. He is regarded as one of the greatest bodybuilders of all time along with Arnold Schwarzenegger. Coleman is also renowned for his dominant physique. Coleman used to do extremely heavy workouts.

Ronnie Coleman hits 300!

In an interview from 2018, Coleman shares his experiences when he hit 300 pounds for the first time. He says, “The first time I hit 300, I couldn’t bend over, I couldn’t bend over, how to tie my shoes and walking up stairs and walking up stairs was a chore.”

Coleman shares how he was just 215 pounds when he first became a professional bodybuilder. He went to touch almost 30 pounds by the time he had won his 7th Mr. Olympia title.

Although he does mention that this change was gradual and happened over a period of many years! He was getting bigger and bigger every year. In fact, he mentions even he himself could not notice the change easily. It was difficult to adjust even while being such a gradual change. One can imagine how difficult it would be had it been a sudden change.

Coleman has a degree in accounting!

Interestingly, Coleman has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Grambling State University. Post graduating from the university, he could not find a suitable job and subsequently, worked at Domino’s Pizza. Later on, he goes on to become a police officer in Arlington, Texas, and serves as an officer from 1989 to 2000. Later on, he served as a reserve officer until 2003.

It’s interesting to see professional bodybuilders changing their physiques through their hard work. No one notices the difficulties that they have to go through though, and hence, it’s interesting to listen to Ronnie Coleman’s hardships while getting bigger in size.
