US Grand Prix 2019 Weather Predictions

The US Grand Prix 2019 is barely a week away and the action is heating up before we reach the Circuit of the Americas. Mercedes AMG have proven to be the team to beat, as Lewis Hamilton prepares to take his sixth F1 title. However, Scuderia Ferrari will not be far behind, as will Red Bull, who are itching to be back on the top step.

In terms of the weather conditions for the US Grand Prix 2019 weekend, things are going to be fairly straightforward. On Friday, the temperature will be around 16°C and it will be mostly sunny. However, on Saturday the temperature is predicted to be around 17°C, and partly cloudy skies. Meanwhile, race day will see a temperature of 18°C and similar conditions to Saturday.

In terms of winning the race, Mercedes are the favourites, having won here several times. However, last year, it was Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen, who took top honours to delay Hamilton’s title celebration that year.

With regard to the tyre allocation for the US Grand Prix 2019, the Renaults are the only team opted for 10 sets of soft tyres. Meanwhile, McLaren, Red Bull, Mercedes and Sebastian Vettel are electing to run 8 sets of softs, with the remaining teams and Charles Leclerc on 9 sets each.

On the medium tyre allocation, Valtteri Bottas and the Red Bulls will be running 4 sets of yellow-walled tyres. The Ferrari duo, Lewis Hamilton, Romain Grosjean, the McLarens, Kimi Raikkonen, Daniil Kvyat and Robert Kubica are on three each. Nico Hulkenberg is the only driver on one solitary set of soft tyres. The rest of the pack have two sets of yellow-walled medium tyres.

On the prime tyres, Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel, Nico Hulkenberg, Kevin Magnussen, Antonio Giovinazzi, Pierre Gasly, George Russell and the two McLarens and Racing Points, have 2 sets each. The rest of the grid will have to make do with 1 set of the prime tyres, which played a major role in Mexico.
