‘God and Monsters‘, an upcoming game by Ubisoft, was announced at E3 2019. Its scheduled February release never happened because of the global pandemic. A lot has gone down since then, as the developers accidentally leaked a version of the game on Stadia. A spokesperson from Stadia then issued a statement to Kotaku, apologizing to Ubisoft.
“Regretfully, on Thursday morning, we mistakenly made an E3 2019 demo version of Gods & Monsters from Ubisoft available on the Stadia store that was not intended for the public to play. A few hundred gamers were able to play it for less than 30 minutes. We sincerely apologise to our partners at Ubisoft for this mistake.”
Additionally, Ubisoft exec Marc-Alexis Cote spoke to Eurogamer, where he mentioned, “Our vision for the game formerly known as Gods and Monsters has evolved in surprising ways, which is common when developing exciting new worlds,” hinting towards the fact that the game may be getting a name change.
As reported by Gematsu, the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee recently rated a game called ‘Immortals: Fenyx Rising’. Interestingly, ‘Gods and Monsters’ follows the story of Fenyx, a forgotten hero who receives a quest by Zeus. This is proof enough that the original title has now changed to ‘Immortals: Fenyx Rising’
