British tennis star Emma Raducanu was the most spoken-about player in the women’s game lately. The then 18-year-old stunned the world by winning the US Open at her first attempt, and at her second ever Grand Slam appearance.
However, things have been shaky for the youngster since then. After the US Open success, she parted ways with her coach Andrew Richardson. Since then, the results have been underwhelming, given her unexpected success. Raducanu lost in the initial rounds of the Indian Wells 2021 and Linz Open.

Unfortunate news for Emma Raducanu
Raducanu was scheduled to compete at the Mubadala World Tennis Championship in Abu Dhabi from the 16th of December. However, unfortunately, the Brit has tested positive for Covid-19 and the tournament organizers confirmed that she will miss the event. It’s a sad update as the young player has become quite the sensation amongst tennis fans from all around the world.

Coming to her 2021 tennis season, Emma gained prominence after making it to the second week of the Wimbledon Championships. Sadly, she had to withdraw during the fourth-round match.

However, she bounced back and claimed the US Open in her first appearance. During the competition, she beat many prominent names on her way to the trophy.
In the final, she was up against another teenager, Leylah Fernandez and they both created history in New York by being two teenagers in the final of an event as huge as the US Open.
Coming to Mubadala Open, fans would be excited to know that Spanish sensation Rafael Nadal will be making a return back on the Tour. We wish him all the best and Emma a speedy recovery for the upcoming 2022 season.
