UFC President Dana White joined TSN’S Aaron Brewster to discuss upcoming fight dates amidst the Coronavirus pandemic. With UFC’S major fights postponed, several questions have popped up regarding the health and safety of fighters.
Speaking about upcoming fights, Dana White said
‘’ We are looking at a lot of different things. But obviously, listen if you are a fan or media member or whatever you might be, you want to bet against me?. You want to bet that I can’t pull stuff off? I mean at some point I believe you’d stop doubting me, but maybe not so we’ll see.’’

Dana White certainly has the credentials to host major events. There have been several instances where fighters have pulled out or injuries crop up at the last minute. Despite this, the UFC has pulled off great fights and have been doing so for years.
A recent example of this was the UFC’s latest event in Brasilia. The show went on despite the lack of a crowd and garnered enough media coverage to be a relevant event. The UFC may adopt a similar approach for Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Tony Ferguson.
White has faced a lot of criticism for hosting fights given the ‘’asymptomatic’’ nature of the virus. However, despite concerns, White reiterated that he has doctors on board to take care of fighters and the staff.

‘’Health and safety is always a concern. A lot of these other businesses don’t deal with kind of stuff. We deal with this every single day. We have the brightest and best doctors for our fighters and our staff. So health and safety is not new to us and is something we think about and focus on every day.’’
Given that the health and safety of fighters and staff is a top priority, it’s hard to predict potential dates for fights.
