Daniel Cormier had some of the best moments in the octagon. From beating the best athletes to becoming a two-division champion, he has done it all. Relive one of the most electric moments from his career when he almost brawled with Brock Lesnar inside the octagon.

DC’ conquered the light heavyweight championship and moved up a weight class to challenge Stipe Miocic for the heavyweight title. At that time, Stipe had 3 title defenses under his belt, the highest in UFC heavyweight history.

At UFC 226, Cormier stunned the world when he knocked out Miocic in the first round. Hence, cementing him as one of the best combat sports athletes in the world. Post-fight, he delivered an emotional speech where he mentioned his heartbreaking loss to Jon Jones and how he overcame it to accomplish his goals. However, DC wasted no time to call out the biggest name in sports entertainment – Brock Lesnar.

He said, “There’s a guy that I have known for a long time. He’s a wrestler, he’s an All American, he’s a former UFC champion. I never thought I’d fight him. But, Brock Lesnar get your ass in here.”

Lesnar—who was in attendance—stormed to the octagon and shoved Cormier. Cormier responded to the situation by saying, “Push me now and get slept later.

Following the push, ‘The Beast Incarnate‘ took over the microphone and belittled the performances of Francis Ngannou and Miocic. He said:

“Let me tell you somethin’. I have walked into this building and watched heavyweight disasters from the beginning. Ngannou is a piece of sh*t, Miocic is a piece of sh*t. DC I’m coming for you motherf****r.” Lesnar slammed the microphone on the camera and ended the interview.

Originally, it was Jon Jones who had called out Lesnar after his win over Cormier. But, due to his suspension, Jones was out of the play. Cormier attempted to seize the opportunity to bank the biggest paycheck of his career.

The potential bout between Cormier and Lesnar had everybody talking. Even rumors about Lesnar entering the USADA drug-testing pool surfaced. There might be some truth to these rumors when you compare his physique before the callout and after the callout, hinting that the WWE star might have stopped using PEDs.

Unfortunately for the fans, the fight never materialized. According to Joe Rogan, Lesnar was unhappy with ESPN’s business model and preferred the old PPV model. Although we could not witness this bout in an MMA cage, there are chances of it happening inside the WWE ring.

On multiple occasions, Cormier has stated his intentions to work for WWE. It’s “never say never” in the pro-wrestling world. Cormier’s teammate Cain Velasquez took a similar route and faced Lesnar last year in the WWE.
