135 Lbs Ronda Rousey Once Gave a Shocking Answer When Asked to Fight 260 Lbs Dwayne Johnson: “The Rock Knows It Too”

Ronda Rousey once had an outspoken take about a fight with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. The UFC Hall of Fame and current WWE women’s star, who starred in Furious 7, answered a fan’s question that would shock The Rock.

In 2015, Rousey did a fan Q/A, when she was partnering up with Dwayne Johnson for the Hollywood project.

A fan asked the then women’s bantamweight champion, ‘Rowdy’, “who would win a legit fight you or @TheRock?”

‘The Rowdy One’ responded with a decisive answer and said, “I would definitely win and @therock knows it too, ;)”

The former 6-time UFC women’s champion, Rousey, was a reckoning force during her championship run. Yet, her offering that she would beat a man with over 250 lbs when she had fought as low as 135 lbs seemed a far stretch.

At the time, Rousey had all the hype around from the media, and MMA experts around the world. Analysts like Joe Rogan said Rousey could beat undefeated boxing legend, Floyd Mayweather. Besides, Rogan also thought Rousey could take out half of the men’s bantamweight division.

Thus, arguing an untrained mixed martial artist Dwayne Johnson could get beaten by Rousey was a seemingly fair conversation back then.

Although, Rousey’s response seemed rather friendly and not an actual challenge to the most electrifying man in sports entertainment.

Rousey would eventually team up with The Rock again when he met her at the World Wrestling Entertainment stage. Besides, it was none other than the grandest stage of them all – WrestleMania. She slammed Triple H, who was part of the Authority, during a segment of WrestleMania in one of her first WWE appearances.

Rousey appearing on the grandest stage was a welcome surprise for the fans. Moreover, watching her pair up with The Rock to take out a heated group in The Authority was a cherry on top.

Fans enjoyed the moment. It was further clear when it won the ‘This is Awesome’ Moment of the Year.

The Rock thanked his fans for the win on his social media handle as well.

“Rock & Ronda was a once only lifetime moment for the fans…,” Johnson wrote about her pair with Rousey. However, with John Cena and The Rock rivalry, anything that the WWE universe has learned is that nothing is once in WWE.

Thus, they could expect more collaboration between The Rock and The Rowdy One in the future.
