Upcoming UFC title challenger, Dominick “The Devastator” Reyes is set to face Jon Jones for the light heavyweight championship at UFC 247. The scheduled bout is less than a week away. Coming into the fight Reyes boasts an undefeated MMA record of 12-0 with 7 wins by knockout.

However, he is yet to face his toughest challenge. His opponent, Jon Jones is considered the greatest light heavyweight of all time by many. Jon Jones, like Reyes, has a near-perfect MMA record. The only blemish on his record was due to a disqualification against Matt Hamill.

Jon Jones is one of the most well-rounded mixed martial artists in the UFC. He has fought them all and beat them all. He claims that there’s nothing Dominick can do that he hasn’t seen before. It may be true to some extent but when one talks about Dominic Reyes, you can’t ignore the devastating power he brings to the table.

Fastest KO victory of Dominick Reyes

Almost 2 years ago, Dominick Reyes knocked out Marcus Govan within 27 seconds at Hoosier Fight Club 32. This fight improved Dominick’s record to 5-0. To this day, it remains the fastest knockout of his career. Known for his devastating left hand, Reyes knocked out Govan with a head kick.

Reyes’s last fight against Chris Weidman ended in a similar fashion. Reyes was able to connect with his left hand and finish Weidman with punches in round one. On the other hand, Jon Jones may not be known for his Knock out power but his fight I.Q. and technical skills are enough to dispose of any opponent. Both Reyes and Jones spend hours of their time studying their opponents.

If Jon Jones does not allow Reyes to establish any distance, Reyes may be in for a long night. Reyes also displayed some holes in his wrestling game during his fight with Volkan Oezdemir. Although, many believe that Reyes was not expecting the wrestling. Jon Jones is also known for his unpredictability which can be difficult for Reyes to deal with. For Reyes, all he needs is one clean shot to shut anybody down.
