UFC middleweight Uriah Hall and Sean Strickland will go to war at UFC Vegas 33 in a five-round main event scrap. Both men are ranked inside the top 15 of the 185-pound division and will be keen to make a lasting impact. While an immediate title shot won’t be on the line for the winner, a win will certainly be welcome.
It’s starting to look like Israel Adesanya is set to be a prolific champion at middleweight and there is a constant need for new contenders. Hall and Strickland are both new faces to the upper echelon of the division and there’s a lot on the line. What’s more, the card has been criticized by some fans for not being deep enough and all eyes will be on the main event.

UFC Vegas 33: Uriah Hall vs Sean Strickland
‘Primetime’ Hall is on a four-fight win streak and is coming off a TKO win over Chris Weidman back at UFC 261. Hall checked a leg kick from Strickland and ‘The All-American’ swiftly broke his leg in violent fashion. As Hall was the one who caused the break, he was awarded the win and now rides the longest streak of his career.
Uriah Hall’s explosiveness and accuracy are two key features that he’ll be looking out towards when he faces Strickland. Sean Strickland tends to plot forward at certain points in the fight and Hall will want to take advantage of that. Not to mention, Uriah Hall has some slick spinning attacks that are extremely useful against a taller opponent.
Sean Strickland is also on a four-fight win streak and he seems to be coming into his own at middleweight. He fought many notable names in his 26-fight career including Kamaru Usman and Santiago Ponzinibbio. While he lost those marquee matches, Strickland feels like he’s elevated his game considerably now.
‘Tarzan’ is a range-based striker and he’s dynamic when pushed up against the fence. He’ll be well suited to fight at distance as shelling up against Hall could open him to hook counters and bolo uppercuts. Not to mention, footwork will play a part in this contest as both men will fight for the center of the mat.
