It was a clinic from rising contender Dustin Jacoby as he picked up his first UFC win in an emphatic fashion over Justin Ledet in the preliminary card of UFC Vegas 12. Having lost his first two UFC fights during his first stint with the promotion back in 2011, Jacoby had a lot at stake on his return.
Jacoby earned his contract with a spectacular performance over Ty Flores back in August at Dana White’s Contender Series. With this win, Jacoby is currently on a three-fight win streak and has announced his return to the UFC in the most befitting manner.
Taking on ‘El Blanco’, Jacoby was the favorite going into this fight. However, little did we know that it would turn out the way it did on the fight of the night. Jacoby started strong and landed several significant strikes to completely shut Ledet with his offense. It was a striking battle, which was followed by brutal calf kicks that sent ‘El Blanco’ down on the canvas.

While Ledet managed to get up, he had taken too much damage to make a comeback. It was a matter of seconds before a barrage of punches from Jacoby forced the referee to stop the fight. In the process, Jacoby earned his first win and will look to cement his position in the light-heavyweight division going forward.

Back then, the former kickboxer entered the promotion with six straight wins in his MMA career. However, he fell short on the biggest stage of all, losing back-to-back fights before being released by the promotion.
Since then, the fighter has improved leaps and bounds, gaining more experience competing outside of the UFC. Needless to say, Jacoby will look to continue the same run as he embarks on his second journey inside the UFC. What did you make of his display at UFC Fight Night: Hall vs Silva?
