There have been several horrific injuries inside the UFC octagon. The most notable one is Anderson Silva’s brutal leg injury, which took place way back in 2013 against Chris Weidman.

However, there have been injuries that have happened outside the octagon that have kept fighters away from the cage. Recently, MMA veteran Sean Strickland opened up about the gruesome injury he suffered a year ago.

“I had a doctor coming up to me saying, ‘You’re going to surgery.’ And at that moment I started crying a little bit. I don’t know if it’s just the lifelong battle with depression that fighters have. But I just remember waking up like, ‘F**k, I hope I can fight again,’ ” Strickland said.

Sean Strickland suffered a huge blow to his knee in a motorcycle accident. He maintained that he has no memory about the same, as he opened his eyes to doctors and police surrounding him.

“My patellar tendon tore so my knee cap was laying out, pretty much dangling out of my f**king skin. After that, they went, and they sewed my patellar tendon back in my kneecap,” Strickland said.

Strickland revealed that he was coming back from a sparring session and was driving on his motorcycle at around 45 miles per hour. According to the MMA veteran, a van pulled right in front of him, dropping him on the concrete floor and leaving him unconscious for several hours. Strickland was fortunate enough to not suffer a head injury.
