The fourth UFC event at the Honda Center in California, United States was hosting a big fight. In 2011, the main event of UFC 121 featured a fight between Brock Lesnar and Cain Velasquez.

Valesquez managed to dethrone the champion in the first round of the fight. He won the fight via TKO at 4:12 in the first round.

And like so many UFC fights, this fight had some drama off the bout.

Mark Calaway (commonly known as The Undertaker) had attended UFC 121 with his wife, Michelle McCool. He was giving an interview after Lesnar’s loss. Calaway’s interview got interrupted in between, when he saw Brock Lesnar making his way past him.

 “You know, I was a bit delirious. Obviously, Cain (Velasquez) put me on a street that I didn’t know the name of and I was looking for my way home. So I went out of the Octagon and I had heard that The Undertaker was going to be there. Once again, I enjoyed working with Mark in the ring but me and him….. Well, there were some things said that kinda really pi***d me off,” Lesnar said later.

Brock Lesnar got back at Cain Velasquez

Eight years after his defeat against Velasquez, Lesnar got an opportunity to get back at him. This time on a different stage.

On October 4, 2019, Velasquez made his WWE debut confronting Lesnar on the first episode of Friday Night SmackDown on Fox, thus setting up the match at Crown Jewel for the WWE Championship.

Taking the match to the MMA side now is my strong suit and that’s what I have to do,” said Velasquez before the fight.  “But still learning the game, the WWE style as well.”

He had also said that working on taking his time more in the ring. However, he hardly stayed in the ring once he entered for a few fights against Lesnar.

Brock Lesnar defeated Velasquez in just 88 seconds.
