Conor McGregor went after a few tennis players, including Novak Djokovic in 2021, for their complaints to follow some protocols ahead of the Australian Open. ‘The Notorious’ was aiming for a comeback after a year against Dustin Poirier at UFC 257. And while promoting the fights and doing media, he spoke to an Australian publication; The Irishman showed his disappointment with tennis professionals.

In an interview with The Project, the Irish superstar talked about his return, his stylish arrival in Abu Dhabi, and more. During the interview, the host brought up the mess around the Australian Open as 72 players were to do a 14-day quarantine to compete in the AO. Novak Djokovic among a few other players was reluctant to follow the protocols and had weird demands.
McGregor shared his thought on the matter and didn’t hold back.
“I’m actually surprised here that the tennis players would be kicking up,” the Irishman said while offering tennis athletes to ‘correct’ themselves.
The biggest star in MMA history added, “To get to compete in such a prestigious tennis tournament or any tournament, a two-week lockdown prior should you know welcome that with open arms.”
“I would urge the tennis players to get their act together,” McGregor added. Further, he showed disappointment as he said, “Professional athletes are complaining about a little bit of isolation? You know, come on guys.”

Conor McGregor had predicted to finish the bout inside the 60-second mark at UFC 257. However, ‘The Mystic Mac’ failed in his prediction to finish ‘El Diamante‘ in a minute. Further, he was at the wrong end of a T/KO result at the UFC 257 headliner.

In McGregor’s MMA career, his prior losses came via submission. In UFC, he lost to Nate Diaz and Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 196 and UFC 229 via submission. Besides, in his pre-UFC career, he had two submission losses as well.
Later, McGregor also lost to Poirier in their trilogy fight in the same year at UFC 264. This loss came via a Doctor stoppage. The Irish superstar is currently looking to return to the Octagon sometime this year.
