A few days after the May/Mac bout, the record 28 Olympic medal holder posted a tweet and tagged Conor McGregor with a proposal.

It came after both Phelps and McGregor were coming off losses. ‘The Notorious‘ came short in his boxing debut against undefeated boxing legend, Floyd Mayweather, whereas Phelps dropped the ball against a shark (computer-generated) in a race.

“All of this talk… Should we race as well??,” ‘The Baltimore Bullet’ wrote to the Irish superstar with a photograph of them facing each other.

‘Flying Fish’, though, posted it as a parody. However, it caught the media’s attention. Besides, the call-out from Phelps was all over the internet, and everyone wanted to see these two absolute stars square off against each other.

‘Mr. Swimming’ described his post as a ‘joke’ but said, “If he wants to swim, I don’t care. I’ll race him.”

Superman‘ claimed he would complete the race within 48 seconds with a proper training camp; He said, “I don’t see him [Conor McGregor] breaking a minute. So I could probably beat him with a 50-metre head start.”
