Conor McGregor transcended beyond MMA

UFC has certainly seen its fair share of superstars, who revolutionized the sport. However, in its 25+ years of existence, there has never been a more influential personality than Conor. He has broken many pay-per-view records, and his fight cards still stand as the highest sellers in the company’s history.

Despite suffering multiple heartbreaking losses in his career, the superstar has still kept his stardom intact. He is the first UFC fighter, who simultaneously held world titles in multiple weight classes. Not just that, he also faced the greatest boxer of the modern era in Floyd Mayweather in his pro boxing debut.

The mega event helped him become a global superstar, thereby transitioning beyond the world of MMA. This also aided UFC to expose itself to a much larger audience, as the company marketed the event alongside showtime. This also marked the beginning of Conor’s journey as a businessman, as he went to create multiple ventures thereafter.
